Can you please tell me the approx marks required in cat to score above 85 percentile. Just rough idea please
As per previous trends, a rough estimated weighted average gives a minimum of 110 marks for 85percebtils.
However, this may vary as CAT also considers time factor into consideration and how much time is spent on each wrong question which ultimately determine your final percentile.
The final percentile is also based upon the sum of mean and standard deviation of marks of all candidates in the particular slot to remove any difficulty and hence predicting a fixed score iz difficult.
Focus well on all sections is highly improtant.
Below are cutoffs for all IIMs.

Generally to get 85+ percentile you need to score 130+. This is a very very rough figure and can change to any extend. But yes scoring above 130 will increase your probability to score above 85 percentile.
On a personal recommendation as less than a month for CAT exam is left so you need to brush up on your basics and give up lots of online mock test and analyse their solutions which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile. Not only this, through these online mock test you will also get to know about your predicted percentile which has a good chance of accuracy as many students who are going to sit in CAT exam keeps on giving the same mock tests.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
