Coaching for CLAT is not compulsory and a lot of aspirants who are successful do not take coachings.

However, as you want to opt for inexpensive coaching, you may take standard All India Scholarship Tests organised by different coaching institutes such as Clatprep, LawPrep, LegalEdge, CLATPossible etc. They offer good scholarships and fee deductions based on your performance in these tests.

Apart from this you can check IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education) which offers rigorous training for CLAT entrance test based on your performance in its basic aptitude test.
