There are many fields in biology where research can be conducted. You can take up any field and study and research at the same time. Few such fields are -
Biotechnology - It is a dynamic field. You can conduct reserach in many fields. You can combine principles of biology and technology to research about something.
Zoology - It is a field of animals. You can conduct research as lab work or field work.
Botany - Field of Plants has immense uses and one can work on extraction of useful substances from plants.
Microbiology - Many microbes are of our use and can be used.
Life sciences - Deals with life processes

There are ample number of streams in Biology which you can pursue to put into light under various subdivisions namely Taxonomy,Ecology,Food safety etc.Under Taxonomy you can pursue Biochemistry,Biophysics,Botany and Biotechnology.Microbiology,Molecular Biology,Parasitology comes under economic subdivision.Theoretical Biology,Zoology,Virology etc comes under food safety.
