Hello Kritika,

When you choose BA Psychology , the subjects you will generally have to choose from could include:

  1. Core Psychology Subjects like Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Social Psychology.

  2. Elective Subjects might include Sociology, Philosophy, English, Education, or Management depending on the college's offerings.

For BSc Psychology , typically, you will have subjects focused more on scientific and research-based aspects of psychology. You may study:

  1. Core Psychology Subjects like Biological Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Research Methods, and Statistics.

  2. Some colleges may offer a combination of Physics and Chemistry with Psychology as part of the curriculum. However, if you choose BSc Psychology , you usually do not need to study Physics or Chemistry unless the specific college has a combined approach for science streams.

So, in BSc Psychology , it is entirely possible not to select Physics and Chemistry, as the focus will be more on psychology-related scientific subjects and research methods. Be sure to check with the specific college for more details about their subject combinations.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

The specific subject combinations available to you will depend on the college or university you choose. Generally, BA Psychology programs focus on the humanities and social sciences aspects of psychology. Many programs allow you to choose elective subjects from other disciplines, such as sociology, philosophy, or literature.

BSc Psychology programs often have a stronger focus on the scientific and biological aspects of psychology. Some programs may require or allow you to take courses in physics, chemistry, or biology, but this is not always the case.

If and whether you can avoid Physics and Chemistry depends on the specific program and institution. Some BSc Psychology programs may require you to take at least one or two introductory courses in physics or chemistry, as these subjects can be relevant to understanding certain aspects of neuroscience and biological psychology. However, many programs do not have this requirement, and you can focus entirely on psychology-related subjects.
