Career opportunities after History
1. Archaeology - After pursuing your bachelors in History, you can go on to study archaeology and make a career out of it. Working as an archaeologist, museologist, or a monument conservationist are options.
2. Research Assistant - Since we are in an age where so many movies, sitcoms, etc, focus on historical characters, you can work as a research assistant with such organizations. You can also work with educational institutes to pursue research in History after pursuing a Ph.D.
3. Art Restoration - You can go on to pursue a specialization in Art History and work with museums and art galleries to restore paintings and other art forms. Their basic job is to restore and preserve already existing works of art like painting, sculptures and monuments which have been damaged or deteriorated. But as basic as it sounds, the job requires utmost amount of historical knowledge and precision. There is a specialization in the particular field during the post-graduation.
4- Museum Curator: if you love the ambiance and amazing artifacts of a museum, you can actually become a museum curator. As a museum curator, you will be dealing directly with the collection of artifacts, their display, research on various different artifacts and objects and provide information to the general public. There are various colleges which provide specialization in the field during the post-graduation.
5- Archivist: Archivists acquire, manage and maintain documents and other materials that have historical importance for individuals, organisations and nations. A large part of your work is related to making information accessible to users, increasingly in digital format. Archives may include books, papers, maps, plans, photographs, prints, films and computer-generated records.
