Hi,
Medical Electronics is a field in which an engineer puts together his knowledge of biology and medicine with engineering to produce devices that are solutions to prevailing medical and health-related problems. Now, considering the fact that the medical sector is booming, this field sure looks bright but looking at the current opportunities available, an average monthly salary for starters at this very moment would be roughly around 15K or so which isn't far too good. But, this field's scope in foreign countries very good so, if you are really interested in this branch and have plans to go abroad too then I would suggest that you go ahead with this branch!
Also, if you are interested in this field but don't want to move out of India then I'd suggest that you pursue this course from the best college available like, MIT Pune or MS Ramaiah.
Medical Electronics engineers develop devices and procedures that solve medical and health-related problems by combining their knowledge of biology and medicine with engineering principles and practices. Many do research, along with life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists, to develop and evaluate systems and products such as artificial organs, prostheses (artificial devices that replace missing body parts), instrumentation, medical information systems, and health management and care delivery systems. Medical Electronics engineers also design devices used in various medical procedures, imaging systems such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and devices for automating insulin injections or controlling body functions.
some of the medical engineering companies to work are :
1 Johnson & Johnson
2 General Electric Co.
3 Medtronic Inc.
4 Siemens AG
5 Baxter International Inc.
6 Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGAA
7 Koninklijke Philips NV
