Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

B.Voc curriculum is often mapped with job role descriptions as per National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

Curriculum is highly industry and work integrated. Some facts about B. Voc are:

  • B.Voc degree programmes are offered in over 200 colleges across the country
  • This is a 3 year degree course after Higher Secondary or Intermediate/P.U college with multiple entry and exit points.
  • Students completing the first year get a Diploma certificate, after second year they get the Advanced Diploma certificate and after completion of three years, the B.Voc Degree is awarded.

Specifically coming to the scope of 2 areas you asked Retail has a very large scope in India now. Retail is slowly but steadily moving into organized sector and a lot of new retail setups we can see across. Online retailing is also growing big way.

Information technology seems to be saturated. At present there is more skill available than actual demand. Automation is likely to further shrink the job growth prospects. However, considering that Engineering talent comes at a premium there is a shift in talent modelling for the IT industry which may actually benefit B.Voc guys.

Thank You & All the best!
