Firstly, heartly congratulations for securing this rank in the exam conducted by a prestigious institution in INDIA. You have excellent chances of obtaining a seat in MD( General medicine) analysing the previous year cut-off rank for this course. Depending upon te number of students appearing for counselling and category your chances of getting a seat is highly possible.

This is a rough estimate only and experts in PGI exams say that if you have a decent rank, it is benneficial rather than accepting defeat as seats go unoccupied at times and sometimes it may spring a surprise with a seat.

So my advice is that do appear for counselling and do not waste your oppurtunity. Keep your aspirations high and you will get in.
