Culture media can be divided into six categories: Selective media, Basal media, Enriched media, indicator media, transport media.
Selective media : It is a medium used for growing a particularly desired organism, and stopping the growth of the organisms that are not desired.
Example :Mcconkey agar for gram negative bacteria.
