See NIOS is a centrally recognized board of education so it's marksheet is valid and accepted by all the institutions across India.
NIOS was developed for those students who are either financially unstable and can't afford regular classes or who got failed and don't want to repeat or waste the year in same board, so such candidates can appear for NIOS secondary or senior secondary examinations.
