Hi Mallikarjuna,

Hope you are doing well. To get a seat in any engineering colleges, you need to clear the entrance exams. In Karnataka, mainly two entrance exams are favoured and they are K-CET and COMED-K. Getting into a college with only board exam marks is a expensive task and termed as management quota seat. So entrance exams are helpful for getting seats with less fees. With the help of K-CET, you can get engineering seat only in Karnataka, but with the help of COMED-K, you can get a seat in any part of the country. May it be Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan or anywhere else. People who wish to study in another state go for COMED-K but for studying in Karnataka, K-CET is highly preferred. I hope you got the point after reading this answer.

Best of luck.
