Hello,

  1. Computer Science(CS) Engineers design, research and develop computer algorithms and equipment like microchips, routers, supercomputers, etc.
Information Technology(IT) engineers use the existing technology(operating system, software, application, etc) to solve business problems and real life processes.
  2. CSE is more mathematics oriented and they learn a lot about computer hardware like microprocessors.
IT on the other hand is less mathematics oriented and are taught minimum about hardware.
  3. In Indian universities, 80%-85% syllabus of both the branches is same.

It might help to imagine it like this: Computer engineers are architects and construction workers. They design and build a house. IT professionals live in the house and use appliances effectively and efficiently for a desired effect. [1]
