As per your query Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Government of India organization to recruit staff in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) Exam for recruitment to various posts like Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) and Data Entry Operator(DEO). The online application form filling for SSC CHSL 2020 ends on 26th December, 2020.The tier I SSC CHSL is to be conducted from 12th to 27th April, 2021. The exam date of tier II examination is to be notified later. Here is the eligibility criteria, selection process, exam pattern, syllabus and all that you need to know about the SSC CHSL Exam.

Eligibility:
- Age limit: A candidate must be within the age limit of 18 to 27 years. There are special age relaxations for various categories such as SC/ST, PwD Defence Personnel, Ex Servicemen, etc.
- Citizenship: Candidates must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan, etc.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Selection Process:
The examination will consist of Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Skill Test/ Typing Test (Tier-III). Skill Test is conducted for the post of Data Entry Operator and Typing Test for the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant & Lower Division Clerk on Computer.
Exam Pattern:
Tier I (Computer Based Test)-
The Paper will consist of Objective Type Multiple choice questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV. The test will consist of 100 questions and will be of total 200 marks. Duration of the test will be 2 Hours. The test will include questions from the below mentioned sections:
1.General Intelligence - 25 questions of 50 marks
2.English Language (Basic Knowledge) - 25 questions of 50 marks
3.Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) - 25 questions of 50 marks
4.General Awareness - 25 questions of 50 marks
Syllabus
- General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and decoding, etc.
- English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Statistical chart,etc.
- General Awareness: Questions are designed to test the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
Tier II (Descriptive paper)
Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode. The duration of the Descriptive Paper will be for one hour. The Paper will consist of writing Essay/ Letter/ Application/ Precis etc. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent. The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will be awarded zero marks.
Tier III (Skill test/ Typing test)
Skill Test/ Typing Test for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on the computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency in the cities where Regional Offices of the Commission are located or as decided by the Commission. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature. Skill Test is conducted for the post of Data Entry Operator and Typing Test for the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant & Lower Division Clerk on Computer.
