Seems like that you are not clear with your question. Candidates who have completed their diploma in engineering domains can pursue B.Tech programmes offered by engineering colleges. Lateral entry scheme is provided to candidates who have completed diploma in engineering.
Engineering is an evolving domain, there are various specializations, depends upon the candidate's choice and also the course completed in diploma. Specializations include civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering ,etc.
