COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING in VIT Vellore or MECHANICAL ENGINEERING in VIT Vellore Which is the best
Dear Aspirant,

Hi aspirant,
Look this is a completely subjective topic as it depends upon the interest and skills of an individual. But Computer science and engineering will be anyday edge over mechanical engineering in terms of opportunities and packages due to persistent rise in technology and automation world. In Mechanical engineering involves study, design, development, construction, and testing of mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines. So if you are a machine lover and have freaking interests in dealing with parts, screws, metals you should only then consider this option.
The average package for CSE at Vellore institute of technology, Vellore is around 7 lacs while being 5-5.5 for mechanical.
Hope it helps!!
Hello aspirant,
It should be noted that both the branches are very well in VIT Vellore. The infrastructure, placements, faculty, facilities are all very good, also the academics.
Now coming to placements, if you wish to pursue mechanical further and get a job in the core then very few companies visit VIT for core jobs. The companies that visit will also select fewer candidates and the criteria for an interview will be high percentage or CGPA. In short, it will be competitive.
As a mechanical engineer, I do not see the point of joining an IT firm. You will however be paid a decent package but it will completely be different from your branch.
See private colleges are good for placements for CS and IT usually. Getting placed in Core companies has a very slim chance
At the end of the day, it depends on future goals and your interests. If you are genuinely interested in CSE go for it. VIT is an excellent option for the same.
If you are into mechanical then you'll probably have to apply for core jobs off-campus, which will be twice the effort as the competition will be fierce. But it shouldn't be a problem if this is the branch you want.
I hope this helps!
Thank you and Good Luck!
