Yes. DTU does hold a separate exam for the lateral entry of diploma holders directly into the third semester.

I study in DTU, so I feel that I may answer your query. DTU conducts the DTU LEET exam for the diploma holders seeking lateral entry into the 3rd semester of the 4 year B. Tech courses. Pass that and you will get admission.
