Could you pls provide details about appearing for UPSC examination during the last year of graduation. Is it true that you only need to finish graduation by the time of interview or is a degree certificate required even at time of prelims?
Hello,
Here is the basic eligibility criteria you need to meet in order to give UPSC Exam:
- You should be citizen of India OR a subject to Nepal/ Bhutan OR Tibetan refugee who moved to India to permanently settle here before January 1, 1962.
- Your age should be 21 to 32 years
- Should have bachelor's degree (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, B.Tech etc.) with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from recognised university.
Applicants awaiting their final graduation result can also apply for IAS exam. And there is no minimum UPSC qualification percentage required also.
So, you can definitely go for UPSC while in the final year of your graduation as you don't need any minimum required marks in graduation for it.
