So ITI is industrial training institute which can be done after 10th or 12th . You are interested in higher studies and lateral entry into a diploma course means you will be promoted directly to 2nd year .

Eligibility required for lateral entry:

1)  Completion of ITI course from a government recognized institution

2) Must be strong in science or PCM , especially Maths since engineering depends on it .

Courses offered in lateral entry scheme :

1) electronic engineering

2) electrical engineering

3) mechanical engineering

4) computer science engineering

5) civil engineering

6) automobile engineering

Jobs are available in various  public and private sector fields like air conditioner repairing , Indian army , navy,  air force , telecom industry etc
