Commerce is a very wide stream. You can have the benefits of choosing any art stream and also the options from commerce stream. Here are some options :-

  • Chartered Accountant- the most followed path and the most demanding one. It takes a lot of hard work and commitment.
  • Company Secretary - a good option and upcoming one.
  • Law- if you wish to become a lawyer.
  • Hotel management - If you like hospitality sector and you are one of the customer oriented types.
  • Designing - interior and fashion designing are common but there are various others like footwear, furniture, etc.
  • Banking - if the operations of bank and its working entices you.
  • Bachelor of arts- you can take up this degree if you are into a particular subject, can be any.
  • B. Com,  bba, common ones and not good without any supporting degree or further studies.
  • Mass media- this is a whole new stream which has plenty of options in itself. It is more of artistic and creative nature. Message me if you want to know more about this stream. I am currently pursuing it.
  • human resources - this is usually a post graduation or masters thing. Involves solving problems in a firm faced by the staff.
  • public relations - being the face of the company and maintaining good relations with everyone. Again, more of a masters degree.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE AFTER 12TH COMMERCE:

One can pursue professional courses after 12th which are extremely tough but at the same time offer promising career opportunities.

1. CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY- involves expertise in company accountancy and taxation.

2. COMPANY SECRETARYSHIP - involves expertise in corporate laws but also includes accountancy and taxation as side areas of expertise.

3. COST ACCOUNTANT - involves expertise in cost and management accounting but taxation and company accounts is also required to be studied while pursuing the course.

The above three professionals deal with main area of auditing in the corporates, be it secretarial audit, cost audit, internal audit.


The Bachelor degree options available after 12th commerce are mentioned below:


1.B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce)

A course that most 12th Commerce stream students pursue after schooling as the level of academic difficulty associated with this course is Moderate and admission to this course is solely on the basis of your 12th board result. The higher you score, the better shot you have to get admission in a top college.

Many institutes take admission on the basis of CLAT Exam or their own entrance exam for Integrated LL.B. Programme along with merit result in class 12th. Other Integrated undergraduate degrees provided are B. Sc LL.B., BBA LLB, B. Com.LL.B.

3.B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business Administration)

B.B.A. is a 3 years long Degree course. It includes all the forms of Management at undergraduate level which regardless of the specialization, will provide a student with conceptual, theoretical and practical knowledge in various aspects of business.

The course aims to build up critical thinking and analyzing skills in the students so that they can deal with different kinds of situations in a business or management.

After Class 12th from Commerce Stream, you can apply for the following courses
Bachelor of Commerce Hons. (B.Com Hons.)- It is a three year full time undergraduate course in business and commerce. It also deals with basic understanding of subjects such as economics, marketing, statistics, etc.



Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)- It is a three year Bachelor's degree in management. It includes both general business courses as well as advanced courses in different specializations.


Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)- It is a three year full time course. The course imparts entrepreneurship skills.


Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM)- The course teach students about managing the operations of a hotel, managing hotel staff, etc.


After Bachelors, you can also opt for Master of Business Administration (MBA), M.Com.

You should analyze about your skilld and interests and then opt for the course as per your interest.

This is the most common course taken after 12 commerce.  It is a 3 year duration course,  involving subject like accounting,  economic

2. BBA

Another common course after 12, in this a student studies about managing a business and administration.  It is a three year  course. After BBA one can do MBA

3. Bachelor in Economies

The students learn economic concept,  economic model,  analytical method

4. Bachelor of management studies ( BMS)

It is a three year course that provides theoretical and practical training on managerial skills, human resources,  research methodology.

5. Charated accountant ( CA)

You can act as a tax consultant,  advisor

6. Company secretary ( CS)

7. Cost and Management Accountant ( CMA)
