CS + LLB or CS+B. com which is better?
A CS with a B.Com(Hons.) and a five year LL.B course would be the ultimate. But this would mean full-time studies for another five years after your graduation. Do you really want to spend so many years in studies? A regular three year LL.B course from a recognised college which conducts classes in the evening would enable you to gain valuable work experience and there is really nothing to be gained by doing a five year B.A., LL.B course. The exception would be in case you secure admission in prestigious institutions like the NLSIU in Bengaluru. After completing this course, you can expect a placement in good companies, banks or law firms. But again there is a catch! Companies, banks and law firms come to NLSIU for recruiting candidates for suitable placements in the legal profession and not for recruitment as company secretaries. Your CS qualification would of course give you an edge over other candidates but you would always be working in the legal profession and never as a company secretary. You should accordingly take a decision on which profession you would like to be after qualifying both as a law graduate and a company secretary.
