The interview is different as Electronics and communication branch is technically different from CSE as it deals with more related hardware and communication techniques.

ECE is mainly divided into 4 parts

1. Very-large-scale integration - this deals with transistors, MOSFETs, digital design, etc. It deals with hardware design and verification at different levels (transistor level, gate level, etc)
2. Embedded -(this requires computer science knowledge also) this deals with programming the hardware like microcontrollers or microprocessors using c or c++
3. Signal processing. - this deals with various methods of processing the signal which is helpful for communication. For example, designing filters for different applications
4. Communication-this deals with communication protocols, modulation and demodulation techniques, and antenna design radars SDRs, etc

When it comes to CSE it more deals with.

algorithms to solve the problem in a very efficient way

Data structures

Database management systems

Machine learning and data science

Operating systems

Discrete mathematics

Microprocessors

Compiler design

Etc are few CSE subjects which are not even related to ECE subjects

Maybe operating systems are used in embedded engineering like real-time Operating systems

Computer architecture and microprocessors are two subjects that CSE students and ECE students study in common otherwise it is a different ball game.

And related to ECE guys going to CSE jobs

Yes ECE guys can go to CSE jobs. I have seen a lot of them go to high-paying CSE jobs. It is because of their passion for coding.

If you want to go to high-paying jobs then you need to be good in algorithm design and data structures machine learning etc

Otherwise, you can also get into t3 companies who hire people in mass and they will train you and put you on projects
