Dear Aspirant,

In general, Btech is said to be a time when a candidate start aquiring surface knowledge of Many fields in computer science stream (or any other stream) later based on there interest they make a decision of taking masters in the domains they were interested in.

I would say that, the knowledge a person gains in Mtech is much deeper and selective so the chances of Mtech students going for PhD or joining Research organisations/startups to perform ground breaking research is literally high.

Afcourse masters from a reputated Institutes in India will definitely give an Extra edge to crack great jobs within campus at ease but it doesn't mean that you can't gain the same with a btech degree afcourse even if you just have a btech degree it is possible but you need to put large efforts and countless dedicated time to expertise your skillset.

I personally say if you thought of doing masters then don't step back! especially if it is from one of the premier Institutes of India like IISC or IIT or NIT since the diversified exposure and great minds you encounter there are amazing .Try giving GATE EXAMINATION to make the opportunities broader with your whole might.

If you are not interested to spend two more years as a student then try to strengthen your skillset. especially, focus alot in algorithms, data structures and programming as you are from CS background.

  • Apply for product based companies, Give your best and try not to stick yourself with service based jobs!
  • You can also apply for PSU's such as ISRO,DRDO...etc.

Hope it is informative
All the best

Aman Raj hmm it's fine to do it but if you ask me in general i personally don't recommend it untill you are too excited to learn new things and ready to work little bit harder.
if that degree is offered by some good renowned college in India with a good quality research facilities and professors then you can feel it to turn worthwhile and good to join.

if it's offered by tier-3 college then it's not a good idea to take it rather if you want to do masters, appear for gate after btech and join some reputated institutions where the learning is high and opportunities are immense.

hope you got what i mean to say,
let me know if you need any more information
have a great day!
