Hello,
CSE is computer science engineering and it involves the design and development of computer components. The curriculum involves study of both hardware and software areas. It deals with the design and development of computer components. CSE revolves around the designing of a computer gadget that should be economically preferred and less space oriented. The career options in CSE are applications Software Developer, Systems Engineer, Web developer, Data Analyst ,Software Engineer .
I.T is informational technology and it is mainly associated with the software part of computers. It mainly deals with the application of computers in businesses. IT includes the software that runs that gadget. The career opportunities for I.T include Information Security Analyst, Network Architect, Database Administrator, Systems Administrator .
You need to choose the field according to your interest . So by comparing these two fields you can make an informed choice.
Hope this helps you.
Dear Student,
Both the branches are similar but they have just small difference between them.
IT ( Information Technology ) generally focuses on the real world application of computer knowledge i.e. it is mostly focused on software part. This branch mainly consists topics related to Information management (storage and retrieving) , Information security, Software engineering, Computer Science, web scripting etc.
While CSE is a broader field it focuses on software, hardware and also has a little bit electronics and electrical side to it. Basically, CSE tells you what Information technology is, where do you apply it, how do you apply it and also when you apply it what is it that is actually happening. So it is just the bigger version of IT.
Talking of placements , so CSE has somewhat good placements than IT . But IT has also good placements.
Overall both the branches are good , but it depends on your interest as well to choose between these two.
Hope it helps.
