Hello Mehak,

First of all you should know the difference between them  and then choose as per your interests.

In IT its all about Software , in CS it all about Sofwtare + Hardware + OS core. So choose the same as per your interest like in software/programing language or in IT infra like network/server/Operating System etc. Domains.

IT gets you job only in IT industry. But IT industry doesn’t need IT engineers. They just need a graduates who handles pressure. That’s why they are recruiting students from CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and even Chemical Engineering.

IT don’t even guarantee job even in IT industry. And IT engineers can’t apply for Govt. jobs unlike CS or other engineers.

CS is much more general course and offers plenty of job opportunities than IT.

So CSE is above IT, in both demand wise and job oppurtunity wise.

Hope this helps

Dear aspirant,

Computer science placements are good as compared to information technology placements. However, you have to study more in computer science than information technology as there will be more focus on how things work fundamentally rather than just coding and creating softwares.

So if you are good at stidies then I suggest go for computer science otherwise if you're an average student then go for IT.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
