Let me first clear your doubt about both exams. CSIR & UGC provide Research Fellowships to bright students for training in methods of research under expert guidance of faculty members and scientists working in the University of the Department and National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science. Only bonafide Indian citizens are eligible for this test. CSIR/UGC Fellowship is tenable in India. The Program is aimed at National Science & Technology Human Resource Development. The eligiblity is Candidates should have M.Sc. or equivalent degree Integrated courses or 4 years of BE or BTech or BPharma or MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR) and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST
GATE is the only exam where you can do your M.Tech or PG degree in Biotechnology. With GATE score you can get admission in IIT's, NIT's, IIIT's and many more institutions all across India.
