Hello student admission in engineering college 2nd year is on the basis of marks obtained in entrance examination not on the basis of marks obtained in diploma ,however try to obtain more than 75 percent marks in diploma so that you can easily clear the eligibility criteria of engineering colleges

Apart from IIT NIT IIIT CFTIS. some of the best engineering college are as mentioned below-

  • Anna University, Tamil Nadu.
  • Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
  • Thapar Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Punjab.
  • PSG College Of Technology, Coimbatore.
  • Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Manipal Institute Of Technology, Manipal.

feel free to comment if you have any doubt

good luck

Hi Dear,

I'll recommend you to aim as high as possible because the higher the marks you chances of getting into other college increases. Also, it will help you throughout your life. I'll recommend you not set a minimum marks rather aim for maximum.

Following are top engineering colleges in India:

  • IIT Madras
  • IIT Bombay
  • New Delhi
  • IIT Kharagpur
  • Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani
  • Vellore Institute of Technology. Vellore

The eligibility for lateral entry into the second year of B Tech Programme is as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed diploma examination from an AICTE approved institute in the appropriate branch of engineering and technology.
  • He/she must have scored 45 per cent marks in the examination or equivalent to it.
  • For reserved category candidates there might be a relaxation of five per cent depending on the institute, they are required to score 40 per cent.

So the minimum you have to score is 45%. There is no upper limit, it depend on your hard work alone. Keep in mind if you want lateral entry via marks in diploma, you will not be eligible for IITs and NITs (that gate opens via JEE only).
