The recruitment of SSC CGL is done in four levels as mentioned below-
Tier I which is MCQs based conducted for a duration of two hours with 25 questions from each section such as English Language/General Awareness/General Intelligence and Reasoning/Quantitative Aptitude carrying 100 questions for 200 marks,
Tier II is also MCQs based test of English and Mathematics these two papers are compulsory for all posts, in case of JSO Statistics is applicable, and for AAO the paper of General Studies(Economics & Finance) is applicable, all the papers individually carry 200 marks.
Tier III is descriptive test conducted in offline mode in English/Hindi for precis/letter writing/essay/application etc for 100 marks out of which 33% is the qualifying scores, it's conducted for one hour.
Tier IV: Computer Based Test/Skill Based Test/Document Verification
