Dear sir, let me clear, I have 67% marks in class 12th and 93% marks in class 10th.can I have any chance of any iim if I do well in cat?
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately.
The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.
IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions.
The B schools which do not fall under IIMs will conduct their own selection process. The process of selection such as Group Discussion, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview are conducted at the Institution's discretion.
IMT Ghaziabad, MICA conduct group activity or group exercise instead of group discussion. Some Institutioms also conduct Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews after Group Discussion.
Required percentiles:
- FMS, Delhi needs 95 percentile.
- IIM Shillong: 92 percentile
- NITIE Mumbai: 91 percentile
- IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Tiruchirapalli, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, XIM Bhubaneshwar and New IIMS need 90 percentile.
For ex; IIM Khozikhode Admission Criteria for 2019- 21; Shortlisting criteria:
- CAT Overall Index Score carried 75% weightage
- Class 12 percentage carried 7.5% weightage
- Graduation score carried 7.5% weightage
- Work Experience carried 5% weightage
- Academic diversity factor carried 5% weightage
Considering this, you have to do real good in your Graduation and CAT, to be eligible for IIMS. If you can do so, you can pull it off.
A candidate is eligible to appear in CAT 2019 if he/she holds a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories, need at least 45% marks.
Feel free to comment if you have any doubt
Good luck
