Dear Anand, since you haven't mentioned your category I am assuming you to be under UR
As per the previous year cut offs score of 475 fetched seat in every govt college under STATE QUOTA except only one which was Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore whose cut off was 512. So, if the same trend continues then your son has very high chances of getting govt college.

Also the cut offs are expected to increase this year. Under state quota, last year the minimum marks that fetched govt seat was 368 in Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, Madikeri. So, even if the cut off increases, it won't increase by 100 marks.

As you haven't mentioned the category you belong to , I will consider it to be general and your state of domicile to be Karnataka.
As per last year cutoff for general category in Karnataka , these are the following colleges you can apply to -
Mysore Medical College, Mysore - the cutoff score was - 443
MandyaInstitute of Medical Sciences, Mandya - the cutoff score was - 402
Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli - the Cutoff score was -455
Belgaum institute of medical sciences , belgaum - the Cutoff score was - 428
Vijaynagar institute of medical sciences , Bellary - the Cutoff score was - 428
And rest every single govt. College except
Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore - the Cutoff of this college was - 512

I think that your son got a edge marks in NEET exam actually every year students from the marks range 500 to 560 are in the range of luck wishers in getting a good MBBS seat.
I suggest you that if you really want good seating a medical college please be aware and patient and try for college until last minute. Please comment for more doubts.
