The case related to Upper Age limit restriction is still pending on Madras high court... So, as of now you can apply

BCI official LINK report - http://www.barcouncilofindia.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/LE-Circular-No.-6-of-2016-BCI-1516-dated-17.9.2016BCI-1519-2016-Circular-6-Revive-of-age-restriction-under-Clause-28-of-Legal-Education-Rules-2008.pdf

Hello Praveena, yes, Govt. now placing age bar on LAWCET exam... the age bar is

  • For 3 year LLB Program – Maximum age to appear for the program is 30 years. However, there is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST candidates.
  • For 5 year LLB Program – Maximum age to register for TS LAWCET 2018 5 year LLB program is 20 years. However, there is a relaxation of 2 years for SC/ ST candidates.

Currently, notice i come across to are TS LAWCET and AP LAWCET... though some website not showing currect info... So, here is the link

But it is mentioned that "there is no age limit as per BCI and Supreme court". It's really confusing thing. Is AP LAWCET not following BCI and Supreme court. Please make it clear.

Hello Sireesha, to answer you query i have been number of articles + BCI official website, which say Clause 20 legal education rule has been restored for now... which means Madras court has put stay on upper age limit till the issue gets sorted out... The case is still pending on Madras high court...So, as of now you can apply BCI official LINK report - http://www.barcouncilofindia.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/LE-Circular-No.-6-of-2016-BCI-1516-dated-17.9.2016BCI-1519-2016-Circular-6-Revive-of-age-restriction-under-Clause-28-of-Legal-Education-Rules-2008.pdf All the Best

no there is no age limit for any law entrance test as per the guidelines of Bar Council of India issued by the order of Hnble Supreme Court.  You only need to fulfill the eligibility criteria what is you need to score minimum of 45% in graduation as a general candidate and for reserved catergory it is 40%.

Hello Praveena

No, there is no age limit for LAWCET. You can apply for it at any age. But there are some other eligibility criterias that you need to qualify. These are :

1) A candidate should have possessed a bachelors degree from any recognized university in the 10+2+3 pattern.

2)Candidate should have acquired his graduation degree with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

3)For the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need to have secured atleast 40% aggregate marks in their graduate degree course.

4)Candidates will have to be Indian nationals and also satisfy the local/non-local status.

Best of luck
