Derive the expression for the total energy of an elecron in the nth orbit.

Hi Aspirant,

You will get this expression in 11th standard chemistry books in the first chapter itself.You need to equate the centripetal force of the electron with the k *e^2/r^2 and then continue the equations following Bohrs postulate.Ultimately you can check the energy coming to be inversely proportional to n^2.
