Living in a patriarchal society as we are, things are more often than not biased in favor of the male gender. Gender discrimination starts from home. Girls are often made to help with the household chores, which the sons are seldom made a part of. Girls, from a young age are expected to behave in a particular fashion that is deemed correct by the stereotypical society, this includes sitting, dressing, talking and doing almost everything 'like a female'. The pre existing notions of women being 'incapable' of working in fields like technology and in industries, limits the job prospects for them. And in the fortunate case they are hired for their qualifications, they are subjected to work place discrimination, where for the same amount of work, they are paid less than their male counterparts. Even if the woman is working, she is expected to be responsible for the household chores and tending to the family. Men rarely contribute to their share of household work.
