If you are considering doing your Bachelors degree in Arts Hons. it is a good question to start with. The main difference between BA (Hons.) Political Science and BA(Hons.)
BA (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences
Humanities and Social Sciences is that the latter one offers a variety of courses under the Arts category in first two years, giving the students a broad and rich variety to choose from to pursue a major in 3rd year. Some colleges offering this course also folllow the patters where students are asked to choose a basic subject which would remain constant throughout and from semster 2 to 5 a variet of subjects would be offered to specialize in.
Perks of BA (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences:
It enables the student to work in the field. A practical knowledge could be gained as this course is based on project work.

BA (Hons.) Political Science
A normal BA (Hons.) Political Science degree is more focused on the subject Political Science than the other varieties of subjects. Throughout the 3 years of Bachelors degree, Political Science is taught in levels. Most colleges offer one elective and one enhancement course along with two core subjects in first year. In second year 4 out of 5 subjects are either core subjects or based on the core subject and one is an elective and in third year all 4 subjects are core subjects.
