Hi Sumati,

As both aerospace engineering and aeronautical engineering are prepared to design aircraft there is not a much difference in both.

However, aerospace engineering would likely to be combination of two specializations namely: aeronautical engineers who handle the design of aircraft and austronautical engineers who are specialised in designing spacecraft.

To do the bachelors degree in aeronautical includes specializations only on the aircrafts which are inside the boundary of earth's atmosphere. where as to do bachelors in aerospace engineering includes specializations in both.

I hope this will help you in clearing your doubt regarding both.

Hello Sumati,

Thanks for contacting Careers360.

A degree in aerospace engineering and a degree in aeronautical engineering both prepare students to design aircraft. In fact, aeronautical engineering is a branch of aerospace engineering. Though the two degree programs teach similar engineering principles, there is a critical distinction between designing for air and space.

A bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering would likely include both specializations, whereas a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering would focus solely on those vehicles that fly within the Earth's atmosphere. Both options usually require students to take some similar courses, like dynamics, propulsion and fluid mechanics.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hey there buddy.Aerospace engineering is concerned with designing and building aircraft and spacecraft. Aerospace engineering can be divided into two specializations- aeronautical engineers, who handle aircraft, and astronautical engineers, who design spacecraft, If you have a degree in aerospace engineering it would likely include both specializations, whereas a degree in aeronautical engineering would focus solely on those vehicles that fly within the Earth's atmosphere. Both options usually require you to take some similar courses, like dynamics, propulsion and fluid mechanics.Good luck
