Hello!!

Bachelor of Engineering

1. B.E. is considered as knowledge-oriented course.

2. More emphasis is laid on theory and focuses on strong fundamentals.

3. Being more knowledge oriented, course curriculum is updated but not as frequent as the other.

4. Internships and industrial visits may be an essential part of the curriculum.

5. Generally, universities offering other degrees (like science, arts, education etc.) along with engineering named their engineering degree as B.E.

6. Some of the popular colleges are NSIT, BITS-Pilani, Anna University Chennai etc.

Bachelor of Technology

1. B. Tech is considered as skill-oriented course.

2. More emphasis is laid on practical applications rather than theoretical aspects.

3. Being technology oriented, course curriculum is considered as more upto date.

4. Internships and industrial visits are a mandatory part of the curriculum.

5. Generally, institutes (including IITs) offering only Engineering studies named their degree as B.Tech.

6. Some of the popular colleges are IITs, NITs, DTU etc.

Thank you.

Universities that offer other degrees along with engineering named their engineering degree as B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) and Institutes providing professional courses like engineering named their engineering degree as B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology). ... B. Tech is considered as skill-oriented course.

Thanks,

Azim

Literally no difference.

Indian history provide a slight difference between the two. Right after independence of India we have two types of universities, one that offers degrees in many fields like Sciences, Arts, Education and Engineering too, and the second set of universities (were named as institutes) offer only degrees in engineering. Universities those offer other degrees along with engineering named their engineering degree as BE (Bachelor of Engineering) and Institute constituted for only Engineering studies named their degree as B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology). Now as AICTE approve courses most of the courses are same and identical for B.E. and B.Tech. The universities those offering B.E. when started new courses named them to B.Tech too. Further, in many Universities that got converted to Technology Institutes, the B.E. degree has changed to B.Tech, but the curriculum more or less remained unchanged.

No degree, BE or B.Tech is superior than the other in terms of theory or experiment. BE and B.Tech are same. Both of them are same and have similar scope and future. If there is some notification for BE, B.Techs are also eligible to apply and vise versa.
