see degree course syllabus of that particular college under university or direct course in university both are same. however in case you have completed the course from the college under university, your college name and both university name would be mentioned in certificate. the main thing you have to look for is, the college placement, faculty students ratio, class room program, lab facility, college infrastructure etc.

If you have taken admission in Visvesvaraya Technological University Belgaum it self then you are a university student. in case you have taken admission in affiliated college under VTU then you are a college student under VTU.
