Hello student,

The entrance exam JEE is divided into 2 parts ie JEE mains and JEE Advanced. Everybody who registers can give JEE mains exam. However, you need to qualify for JEE Advanced on the basis of your JEE mains score and then only you can sit for the JEE advanced.

JEE mains exam is based on mostly formula based solving and theory, whereas, JEE Advanced is a higher level exam which judges you practical application skills and your core concepts and understanding.
You get admission on the basis of JEE mains into various NITs and GFTIs. However, for getting admission into IIT s you need to crack the JEE advanced exam

Hello,

They both are entrance exams. JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exams, which is conducted in two parts,
JEE Mains and Advanced. First you will have to qualify JEE Mains in order to appear for the Advanced examination.
The JEE Mains is conducted by the NTA while JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs.
If you qualify JEE Mains then you can have a chance to get admission in NITs, GFTIs, or other good colleges accepting JEE Mains.
And if you qualify both of them, then you can get admission in IITs or other colleges accepting the Advanced results.
But remember that you will have to meet the eligibility criteria set by the college itself.
As the name suggests, JEE Advanced is of pretty higher level as compared to JEE Mains.
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the compulsory subjects in your 10+2 to attempt JEE.
