They both are entrance exams. JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exams, which is conducted in two parts,
JEE Mains and Advanced. First you will have to qualify JEE Mains in order to appear for the Advanced examination.
The JEE Mains is conducted by the NTA while JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs.
If you qualify JEE Mains then you can have a chance to get admission in NITs, GFTIs, or other good colleges accepting JEE Mains.
And if you qualify both of them, then you can get admission in IITs or other colleges accepting the Advanced results.
But remember that you will have to meet the eligibility criteria set by the college itself.
As the name suggests, JEE Advanced is of pretty higher level as compared to JEE Mains.
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the compulsory subjects in your 10+2 to attempt JEE.
