HI

Mass Communication and Journalism is like Films and Documentary. Looks similar but way different (as in terms of set, scripts, shots etc).

Mass Communication is a broader term, which deals with communicating to the masses through communication mediums. This includes media ( or mediums) like print, radio, television, web and production etc.

Whereas, Journalism, is an art of gathering news (real news from any sector, including different beats like politics, science, education, entertainment, investigation etc), packaging it (with facts, data, pictures etc) and disseminating it through mediums of mass communication (explained above).

This is the difference. Seems similar yet apart.

Hope this clarifies!
