Hello, The whole duration for both course is same but MBBS is based on medicine and surgery , but bams is only based on ayurvedic medicine

Also main difference is course in MBBS course is very vast as compare to BAMS.

And level of MBBS course is far more better than BAMS in these days.

Reasons what you study for 100 marks in mbbs is only half of the syllabus in BAMS along with additional subjects

Next mbbs has only allopathy

BAMS has both allopathy and ayurveda

Yr by yr difference

1st yr mbbs-anatomy, physiology, biochemistry

1st yr BAMS - anatomy(rachna shaarira), physiology(kriya shaarira), sanskrit, padartha vigyana, astanga hridaya sutrasthana

2nd mbbs- pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine, pharmacology

2nd bams- dravyaguna(pharmacology), agada tantra(toxicology and forensic science), rasashastra and bhaishajya kalpana( iatrochemistry or mineral chemistry along with pharmaceuticals), Charaka samhitha purvardha

3rd mbbs part 1 - ophthalmology , community medicine, ent

3rd mbbs part 2 - general medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics

3rd yr bams- roga nidana(pathology), swasthavrittha( community medicine and epidemiology), stri roga prasuti tantra( gynaecology and obstetric), balaroga( pediatric), Charaka samhitha uttarardha

4th BAMS - kayachikitsa (General medicine), shalya tantra(surgery), shalakya tantra (ophthalmology and ent), panchakarma , research methodology and statistics

Hello,

MBBS, BAMS and BDS are the most widely studied medical courses.  So,  MBBS will give you knowledge in the medicine and surgery domain where as BAMS will give you knowledge in the domain of traditional indian system of Ayurveda, where as BDS will give you knowledge in dental domain.

Duration of each of the course is around 5 - 6 years and the fees are INR 5-12 Lakhs per annum, INR 1-3 Lakhs per annum, INR 3-6 Lakhs per annum respectively.

After being graduated in MBBS you will get jobs like : General Physician, Medical Officer, Medical Coder, Dietician, Dermatologist, etc, and many more and from the recruiter like : Medanta Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, Apollo Munich Health Industries Co Ltd, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Cipla Ltd, etc.

After doing graduation in BAMS you might get job like : Lecturer, Teacher, Sales Representative, Pharmacist, Therapist, Scientist, Ayurvedic Doctor, Panchakarma Practitioner, etc. From the recruiter like : Health Care. Dabur, Baidyanath and Himalaya firms, University of Madras, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Ayurveda, etc.

After doing graduation in BDS you will get job like:Dental Research Scientist, Dentist, Lecturer, etc. From the recruiter like : Hospitals, Dental Clinics, Educational Institutes, etc.
