Dear candidate

Primary succession and secondary succession are two parts or types of Ecological succession which refers to the growth or development after the changes in biological community due to natural processes and the difference between Primary and secondary successions is that in the primary succession the place or location is initially not inhibitory with zero vegetation but in the secondary succession is that the growth in the location there was  growth, life and vegetation earlier but it was destroyed due to processes. Example for primary succession is growth in barrel or desert areas and for secondary succession is growth in the forests after being destroyed by forest fires.

Hope this information is Helpful.

Hello Shibam,

Primary Succession is defined as the process of growth or ecological succession in an area that was previously uninhabited, barren, unoccupied and there was no initial vegetation. Examples of Primary Succession include newly formed bare rocks deserts and ponds.

Secondary Succession is defined as the growth of the community in such an area which was previously occupied, inhabited and that has primary vegetation but got disturbed or damaged due to some external or internal factors. The areas covered under deforestation, or affected by natural calamities such as flood, earthquake and volcanic eruption are the examples of Secondary Succession.

Hope this helps you. We wish you the best for your future endeavours!

Hi Shibam,

Primary succession can be defined as the area where there was no growth, the unoccupied land, without any vegetation, uninhabited area but now the process of growth in that area is said to be primary succession.

Secondary succession can be defined as the area where there was proper growth the land was Habitat and proper vegetation was there but due to disaster or damage from external or interior factors. But now the growth of the community is been done. This succession is said to be secondary succession.

I hope your question has been answered properly.

All the best for your future !
