Difference between private medical colleges and deemed medical colleges
Private medical college:
A Private Medical College is one that comes under the State University. A state fees Regulatory Authority manage & approve the private medical college’s fees. The syllabus & exam pattern across all the state private medical colleges are the same. The degree is awarded to all the private medical college students by the State University. The private medical colleges have to follow the rules & regulations set by state government authority and have a reservation policy set by the respective state. The admission/counseling process for all (100%) private Medical seats is conducted by the State Government as par state government rules,85% of the private medical seats are reserved for respective state candidates on marks obtained in NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test).
Deemed medical college:
Deemed Medical College is one which comes under the respective Deemed University Deemed universities are not established by government bodies and hence they have the autonomy to conduct their own examination, design their own examination question paper, as well as the curriculum/ syllabus for a course. Deemed universities are authorized to give their own degree/diploma certificate. Deemed universities also have the authority to decide their own fees structure, that’s why all Deemed medical colleges fees are beyond the reach of a common man. Deemed medical colleges have no reservation all the seats will be allotted on merit basis to All India & as well as NRI candidates on marks obtained in NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test). Allotment of all Seats of Deemed Medical colleges is done through All India counseling conducted by mcc.nic.in (Medical Counsel committee)
