As a fabrication engineer you will be mostly into designing and improving upon the system's that form part of the manufacturing process. It is the job of the fabrication engineer to implement those changes to improve manufacturing system and bring in efficiency. Even when a new process is developed the fabrication engineer have to work out the requirements and implement the new system.
