Question : Direction: Following is the pie chart showing the result of the survey among 119060 people concerning tobacco. Study the pie diagram and answer the following question.

Let P be the percentage of people using pipes, cigarettes, and bidi, and Let Q be the percentage of other tobacco habits. Then P is greater than Q by how much?

Option 1: 25%

Option 2: 10%

Option 3: 85%

Correct Answer: 75%


Solution : Degree subtended by number of people using pipes, cigarettes and bidi $= 36^\circ + 180^\circ + 90^\circ = 306^\circ$
Degree subtended by number of people using tobacco $= 36^\circ$
The difference in degree subtended by two groups $= 306^\circ - 36^\circ = 270^\circ$
$\therefore$ P is greater than Q by $= \frac{270^\circ}{360^\circ}\times 100$ = 75%
Hence, the correct answer is 75%.
