Correct Answer: × and –

Solution : Given:

12 + 10 – 28 ÷ 7 × 4 = 48

Replace the given symbols in the options one by one with the original symbols in the given equation.

First option: ÷ and –
= 12 + 10 ÷ 28 – 7 × 4
= 12 + 0.35 – 7 × 4
= 12 + 0.35 – 28
= –15.65 ≠ 48

Second option: + and ÷
= 12 ÷ 10 – 28 + 7 × 4
= 1.2 – 28 + 28
= 1.2 ≠ 48

Third option: – and +
= 12 – 10 + 28 ÷ 7 × 4
= 12 – 10 + 4 × 4
= 12 – 10 + 16
= 18 ≠ 48

Fourth option: × and –
= 12 + 10 × 28 ÷ 7 – 4
= 12 + 10 × 4 – 4
= 12 + 40 – 4
= 52 – 4
= 48 (This satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation)

Here, only the fourth option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
