Correct Answer: Rice

Solution : For wheat:
Production of wheat in 2003–2004 = 820 million tonnes
Production of wheat in 2002–2003 = 720 million tonnes
Increment in production = 820 – 720 = 100
Percentage change = $\frac{100}{720}$ × 100 = 13.88%
For rice:
Production of rice in 2003–2004 = 560 million tonnes
Production of rice in 2002–2003 = 400 million tonnes
Increment in production = 560 – 400 = 160
Percentage change = $\frac{160}{400}$ × 100 = 40%
For barley:
Production of barley in 2003–2004 = 410 million tonnes
Production of barley in 2002–2003 = 380 million tonnes
Increment in production = 410 – 380 = 30
Percentage change = $\frac{30}{380}$ × 100 = 7.89%
For other cereals:
Production of other cereals in 2003–2004 = 690 million tonnes
Production of other cereals in 2002–2003 = 500 million tonnes
Increment in production = 690 – 500 = 190
Percentage change = $\frac{190}{500}$ × 100 = 38%
The percentage increase in rice is the maximum.
Hence, the correct answer is Rice.
