Correct Answer: 595 : 348
Solution : In city 6, there are 58% of the 2,00,000 literate people, $=58 × \frac{200000}{100}=116000$ literate people The ratio of literate males to females in city 6 = $2:3$ ⇒ The number of literate females in city 6 is given as $3× \frac{116000}{(2 + 3)} = 69600$ In city 2, there are 85% of 2,20,000 literate individuals $=85 × \frac{220000}{100}=187000$ literate people The ratio of literate males to females in city 2 = $7:4$ Number of literate male is given as $7\times\frac{187000}{(7 + 4)}=119000$ ⇒ The required ratio is $\frac{119000}{69600}=595 : 348$ Hence, the correct answer is 595 : 348.
