By what percentage approximately is the batting average of Virat Kohli more than that of Gautam Gambhir?
Option 1: 80
Option 2: 85
Option 3: 75
Option 4: 70
Correct Answer: 85
Solution :
Virat Kohli's batting average = $\frac{\text{Runs}}{\text{Inning – Not out}}$ = $\frac{752}{12-3}$ = 83.66
Also, batting average of Gautam Gambhir = 44.9
So, the required percentage = $\frac{\text{Difference in batting average}}{\text{Batting average of Gautam Gambhir}}×100$
= $\frac{83.66-44.9}{44.9}×100$
= $\frac{38.37}{44.9}×100$
= 85.45% (approx)
Hence, the correct answer is 85.
