Solution : Firstly, we will draw the diagram as per the given instructions –

Now, we have to find the distance between starting and endpoints.

In the above figure, O is the starting point and D is the finishing point. So, OD is the distance from the starting point.
OD = OA + AD (AD = BC = 20 m)
OD = 30 + 20 = 50 m

So, the distance from the starting point is 50 metres. Hence, the third option is correct.
