Solution : Firstly, we will draw the diagram as per the given instructions –
In the figure, A is the starting point and F is the finishing point. So, AF is the distance between the house and the park.
By applying the Pythagoras theorem – (AF) 2 = (AH) 2 + (HF) 2 = (60) 2 + (60 + 20) 2 = 3600 + 6400 = 10000 ⇒ (AF) 2 = 10000 ⇒ AF = 100 m
So, the distance between the house and the park is 100 m. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
